Weather forecasts, notices to skippers, public notices and other communications issued by the Port and Maritime Authorities;
Navigation and steering equipment (needle, odometer, rudder, radar, etc);
Fuel (for the journey and reserve);
Communications equipment (VHF and GSM);
Nautical charts and maps of the Douro Region;
Propulsion equipment (oils, levels, cooling, filters, etc);
Watertightness and sewage system (bottom valves, hatches, sewage pumps, toilets, sinks, etc);
Battery condition (level, charge, corrosion, charger, connections, etc.);
State of the power sockets (tightness and terminals);
Navigation lights (tightness, bulbs, sockets);
Torches and spare batteries;
Lifejacket for each crew member (including children);
Safety harnesses, their cables and carabiners;
Condition of safety equipment (bags, smoke signals, signal mirror, etc.);
Fire-fighting equipment;
Radar reflector, radiobeacon (406 mhz preferred);
Drinking water (in tanks);
Vessel documentation;
Anchors and cables (stowage, corrosion, brake and windlass).

We also advise you to
Whilst sailing, keep the man overboard system (buoy, waistcoat and harness) in place;
Keep the VHF radio on channel 12 (common harbour call);
Respect the use of channel 16 VHF (emergency).

Plastic, glass, drums, packaging and containers of any kind;
Oils and residues of fuels or other hydrocarbons;
Oily water;
Dirty water from bathrooms, toilets, showers, kitchens, etc;
Kitchen easte and other by-products.
